Over the past 12 months, Lift Up Sarpy County has made strides to help guide our residents onto a sustainable path towards well-being. While it’s been challenging, with the collaboration of our awesome partners and cherished supporters, we were able to accomplish so much.
And yet, there is work still to be done.
HOUSING & FOOD
Having a safe roof over your head and knowing where your next meal is coming from plays a big part in a family’s overall well-being. Housing and food stability alleviates stress, allowing individuals to focus on education, employment, and healthy behaviors. Did you know that 9% of Sarpy County’s kids are food insecure?
A safe home also fosters mental health through empowerment and stronger social connections, which ultimately reduces anxiety, depression, and increases self-worth. This past year, Lift Up Sarpy County has been an advocate for reducing homelessness, increasing affordable housing and has helped families navigate the often cumbersome process to attain assistance.
EDUCATION
When a family becomes financially literate and improves their parenting skills and mental health, they gain the tools they need to create a new trajectory for their entire family. When a child is supported with the supplies they need at school, they are much more likely to be successful.
CLOSING THE GAPS
When a family doesn’t have reliable transportation, oftentimes kids don’t make it to school and parents aren’t able to make it to work, adding to a family’s stress and burden. There are other simple, yet transformative assistance and solutions that Lift Up Sarpy County provides.

At a time when the need continues to grow in Sarpy County, like so many community relief organizations, some key funding sources have been drastically cut. This places our ability to continue to serve families at risk. Our collaborative work with other organizations allows us to manage caseloads efficiently and effectively, decreases waste and improves outcomes.
