Comprehensive + Transportation Plan Visioning Meeting

Comprehensive + Transportation Plan (Plan) development process.

The Stakeholder Committee (SC) of Bellevue’s Comprehensive + Transportation Plan will hold it’s first Visioning session on Fen 21. It’s an important role, and one that can only be filled by members who actively plan for your community, like yourself. I am sure you have a lot of questions, and we are at the beginning of our process. That is where you come in! We want to make sure the committee is guided and supported by input from the people that live, work, and play in Bellevue. Your participation on this committee will help achieve that.

A few things to know:

• Comprehensive + Transportation Plan. Alongside you, city staff, and the community at large, we will prepare a new illustrative and implementation focused Plan based on community input, opportunities, and market realities. It will be a road map for decision making for the future of Bellevue. The Plan development process will wrap up in late 2024. There will be numerous ways to engage with the planning process.
• Stakeholder Committee. The SC is a community group made up of a diversity of thought, experience, interest, issue, and opinion. It is meant to be a group to provide insight and inspiration, as well as be a sounding board for concepts, ideas, and recommendations. The SC will meet occasionally and specifically to interact with the consultant team. You will be asked to bring your thoughts, your aspirations, issues, and an open mind to stakeholder events so we can understand the issues and put a plan together to address them for the future success of Bellevue. Your overall commitment will be approximately 12-14 hours through July 2024. Your time is valuable. We will be mindful of that and will ask for your time in a very targeted way. With that background in mind, here are our first requests of you as a member of the SC:

• Visioning Workshop. Mark your calendar for the Visioning Workshop on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Volunteer Firefighter Hall (2108 Franklin Street, Bellevue, NE 68005). Please register for the workshop by February 14 at 5:00 p.m. by clicking this link:https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5X6XD22).
• Citywide Planning Charrette. This event will take place on April 9-11, 2024 at the Volunteer Firefighter Hall. A detailed agenda will be provided soon. Please note that we will not ask for you to clear your entire schedule for the three days – just parts.
• Visit the Project Website. This website is the landing page for everything related to the Plan. Upcoming event information, progress updates, materials to review, and a project team contact form are located on this site.
• Take the Public Survey. The online survey is available on the project website and will be open until March 22, 2024.
• Spread the Word. Help us tell your community that this exciting process is underway! Share the website and the city’s social posts with your social media followers, co-workers, family, and friends. We want to hear from everyone in Bellevue and we need your help to do that.
